What this program is

Learn the dance with the culture still attached.

Vem Sambar! is a closed six-week Samba no Pé program for people who want more than a collection of steps. Isabel will guide the group through a clear progression so that each week builds on the last.

Samba no pé is danced on your own two feet. It belongs to the street party, the roda, the neighborhood block, and the music that calls the body into motion. Isabel grew up with Samba in Rio de Janeiro, and she teaches it with the rhythm, history, expression, and joy still connected.

You don't need previous dance experience. You do need to register for the complete six weeks, arrive willing to learn, and give yourself permission to be a beginner. No partner needed.

What a class looks like

One room, two teaching lanes.

Every class follows the same shape: a samba-based warm-up to wake up the hips and feet, a technique focus for the week, step progressions built one layer at a time, and time to put it together in a short phrase. We close with a cool-down and a moment to reflect.

01Warm up
02Technique focus
03Build the phrase
04Cool down + reflect

Isabel teaches with two lanes in the room — new dancers get a clean foundation, returning dancers get the next layer — so nobody is bored and nobody is lost.

Your six-week progression

Built one week at a time.

This is a closed cohort. Each week has its own focus, and every class prepares your body for what comes next.

Meet Isabel

Isabel De Montiel

Isabel De Montiel was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, where samba isn't something you study — it's something you grow up inside of. Her first dance floors were the street parties of her childhood.

After a career as a professional Salsa dancer and international competitor, an injury brought her back to where she started: samba no pé.

Today Isabel is the founder and artistic director of Carisma Dance Academy on the Peninsula. She teaches samba, Salsa, and Bachata, leads a performance company, and is a certified image consultant.

Movement. Poise. Confidence.
